Garden gets a Slimline solution

The Slimline Water Tank, from PAXTON, featured in a medal winning garden at this years prestigious Chelsea Flower Show. The Recessed Urban Garden, sponsored by Pemberton Greenish in collaboration with Knoll Gardens and designed by Paul Hensey, was awarded a Silver-Gilt Medal.

Responding to the needs of the Urban Environment, Paul Hensey designed a sunken garden to reduce outside noise levels and used low maintenance seasonal grasses to provide year round interest and colour in the planting scheme. To sustain this environment without compromising the appeal of the garden he selected PAXTON’S discreet 250 litre Slimline Water Tank in the natural colour.

Slim Line Tanks are part of a comprehensive range of Rainwater Harvesting products from PAXTON that are designed to meet the needs of Homeowners and professionals involved in the Horticulture and Agriculture sectors.

In the design, two 250 litre Slimline units, linked together, harvested water from the property roof and was used to maintain the water level within the pond. An electric pump was then used to provide a supply for the waterfall feature which alternatively could be diverted for watering the garden as required.

Trough’s Double Award

PAXTON Agricultural has received a Commendation in the Technical Innovation Awards at this years’ Royal Highland Show. The prestigious award is for the all new ‘WT’ 75 and 120 litre Drinking Troughs launched earlier in 2008.

A key feature of these new products is the use of a double skin construction which not only greatly increases the strength of the trough but also produces an internal surface free from ridges and potential dirt traps and allows water to be fully drained away before refreshing the water supply. This means that the unit is generally easier to keep clean and healthier in service.

Another feature of the design is the ability to locate the water inlet valve in a variety of positions and allows ‘end’ or ‘centre fill’ options from the same unit. This flexibility will be appreciated by dealers who only need to stock the one unit and by farmers who can now change the inlet configuration to suit their requirements. The inlet, ball cock, valve is protected by a cover which can now be simply detached for easier regular maintenance. Both WT Drinking Troughs feature built in anchor points for solid bolt mounting on areas of hard standing.

Speaking about the award Business Manager, Andy Muskin said, “We are delighted to have been recognised by the Technical Innovation Committee at the Royal Highland Show. This follows a similar award for these WT Drinking Troughs at the Royal Cornwall Show and it’s a great tribute for the talented Design Team we have producing PAXTON products”.

Perfo Power!

Perfo Ground Stabilisation Matting from PAXTON is used to protect grassland and vulnerable ground that is overused by vehicles, pedestrians or livestock. Grass will grow back through the tiles preserving the character of the environment.

It is suitable to safeguard grassland on footpaths, golf courses, car parks or animal grazing areas.
